The DiBiHo (Digitale Bildungsnachweise für Hochschulen) project is funded by the German Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) and includes as partners Technische Universität München (TUM), Hasso-Plattner-Institut (HPI) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
DiBiHo was launched to explore a reliable, distributed and internationally interoperable infrastructure standard for the issuance, storage, presentation and verification of digital academic credentials in a national and international context. Therefore, the project aims to define digital credentialing goals for German higher education institutions, independent of specific service providers or vendors.
The DiBiHo project organizes monthly online events in which papers related to the field of digital credentials are presented. In this framework, Prof. Dr. Carlos Delgado Kloos from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid has held an online conference on the current evolution of the field of digital credentials in Spain, and presented the CertiDigital project, addressing what motivations have led to its development at this point in time, as well as the challenges and opportunities for collaboration.
